Here are some tips you can use to reduce costs of PPC campaigns such as Google Adword Campaigns.  If you are new to PPC then I strongly suggest you be very careful and watch your campaigns closely, and pause them if you have to.  It is really easy to enter the information to run a PPC ad, and then a few hours later have a bill of $100-$200.  To avoid this, make sure you set your daily spending limit to whatever you can afford.

For the low cost PPC campaign, start out with only 1 campaign, with 1 ad.  For that 1 ad, use only about 10 related keyword/keyword phrases.

My personal belief is that if you ever have to bid more than a dollar…that keyword is not worth it.  There are plenty of keywords to choose from.  Also, change your keyword to ad and ad to landing page relevance.

Keep your keyword set related to each other and related to your ad.

Here is a quick example:
keyword list:

free safelist
safelist list
free safe list
free safe list membership
free safelist blaster
join safelist
safelist pro

Here is the an ad that goes with that…

FREE Email SafeList. Just Signup

See how the keywords are related to each other, and
see how the keywords are used in the ad.  That will give me better ad placement, better click-through ratio, and a lower cost/click.

To help you in your keyword search…start out with one single idea such as:

free safelist

Then enter that into a keyword suggestion tool like Google’s Keyword Tool

It will give you a comparison of like keywords, the amount of competition for each keyword, and the amount of traffic a keyword gets.  Use this tool to find keywords with high traffic and low competition. Those are the keywords that have not been over exploited.

You can use the 3 tools I have listed at:
Keyword Tools

Bookmark that site so you can return to it every time you need to create a new PPC campaign.

That is all there is to it really, repeat as much as you can.  That example gets me 4-5 signups a day and costs about 2 or 3 dollars a day.  That’s pretty good.

I use Google AdWords, but I have also, in the past, used Yahoo’s Overature.  You can setup your AdWords for Google at adwords.google.com.

Getting traffic and keeping traffic are two very different things. Getting traffic is fairly easy, keeping it not so easy. What I mean by keeping traffic is…simply getting them to come back. That means they must have a reason to return to your site. This idea of returning visitors is one of the top advertising objectives, and you should be thinking about it.

Having a product that requires replenishable items is good, and having a service that people come back to in order to use it is good too.  Having regular, returning customers is an essential part of any business.

Examples of this: a car needs fuel, toys need batteries, air-fresheners need refills. Get the idea? A reason to return to the store for something.

The internet is a little different, but not much. If you provide a service that people will frequently need you will have return customers. If your membership requires members to login at least once a week for some reason, you will have returning customers. If your site has a useful resource, people will bookmark it and return.

In the internet world, the best way to ensure that users will come back is to require membership. Paid memberships are even better but not necessary. If you have to pay for membership, you will want to get your money’s worth, right? The idea is that you have to come in (login) to see what’s going on inside, and in that case, you are a returning customer. Logging in is the equivalent to using your membership card at a video store.

Memberships are a more reliable form of getting people to return, but another way is to simply have good content that people will want to bookmark.

Useful content on your website could be anything from an informative article to a list of items. Or perhaps a tool that is useful to some daily activity. The idea is to provide your visitors with something that IS something to them. If you do that, you will have created a returning visitor to your site. If you do not, you will always be marketing to new users, and that simply will not make you successful in the internet business.

Keep your site content useful, and current, and require a login if possible in order to do stuff like post comments, or to view valuable information. Whatever you do, keep this in mind…you MUST have returning visitors to your site if you plan on being successful in the long run.

Advertising Your website doesn’t have to be expensive – In fact, it can be Free.

Here are just five ways to bring traffic to your site at No cost to you.

1. Articles: Write and submit articles to Ezines Blog spots and other websites that allow article submission.Include your Web Address and business information at the end of each article.

2. Social Bookmarking: After writing a new article, make sure to post the link on a few social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Propeller, Reddit or others. This lets people know that you have posted a new article.

3. Message Boards and Forums: Participate in online message boards and forums. Answer questions-Ask question. Get involved in some discussions. Link your web address to your signature at the end of each post.

4. SafeLists & Opt ins: There are many safelists and opt in lists available to you. Many limit how many messages that a free member can send but there are some that use a credit system. You earn credits and use those credits to send more messages. Safelists are still a very effective way to reach potential customers.

5. Free Classifieds: Post your Ads to free advertising sites, free classified sites and Bulletin boards. Classified Ads bring in more traffic than you might think. Use many free ad sites-after all, the more places you post your link, the better for your traffic flow.

I’m sure I have overlooked Many other methods of free advertising. So please comment. We are all always looking for good ideas. Thank You.

I don’t know about you guys but this riddle has always bugged me.

Why? Because being the way I am, I want an answer

so I looked it up and found these on line:

Here’s Carrolls answer:”Enquiries have been so often addressed to me, as to whether any answer to the Hatter’s Riddle can be imagined, that I may as well put on record here what seems to me to be a fairly appropriate answer, viz: `Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is never put with the wrong end in front!’ This, however, is merely an afterthought; the Riddle, as originally invented, had no answer at all.”
Hmmm-More answers please:

  • Because the notes for which they are noted are not noted for being musical notes. (Puzzle maven Sam Loyd, 1914)
  • Because Poe wrote on both. (Loyd again)
  • Because there is a B in both and an N in neither. (Get it? Aldous Huxley, 1928)
  • Because it slopes with a flap. (Cyril Pearson, undated)
  • Because they both have Quills

Ok, then…I am satisfied.

Any other answers out there?
